CARMI, Ill. - While a lot of people would argue that White County is full of bad apples, a literal one discovered as having been thrown at a trailer window Tuesday morning caused a bit of a problem for the owners.

Carmi authorities said that at approximately 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (September 5), an officer was dispatched to a residence on the 500 block of Second Street in reference to a Criminal Damage complaint. There, the officer was met by Rick Stewart, 60, and Connie Heffington, 62, both of that address.

Heffington stated that she was called a few minutes prior after Stewart discovered damage to the front window of their trailer. Half of the window had been shattered out and the other half had a rotted apple splattered on it.

Heffington also stated that they walked around the trailer and discovered another window on the northwest side had been shot with what appeared to be a BB hole in it, causing it to crack.

Neither one had any idea when this could've happened specifically; Stewart stated that he had been at the residence on September 4th around 3 p.m. and did not discover the damage until 11 that morning of the 5th.

Anyone with any information about the damage can give Carmi police a call at 618-382-4633.
