FLORA, Ill. – While best efforts have been put forth to deal with dogs at large in the city of Flora, people keep getting cited for it, and those citations, along with a number of other incidents including a Saline County warrant being served, are what Chief John Nicholson has released in his department’s police activity report.

Robert Reynolds, Saline County mug

The south counties matter leads the report, when last Tuesday, August 1 at 1:01 a.m., Flora Police arrested Robert Reynolds, 22, of Flora on an outstanding Saline County warrant for Failure to Appear. Reynolds was taken to Flora Police Department for booking procedures and then transported to Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Reynolds might be one of those local crims who’s either not all there, or is practicing raising deception to an art form; in Saline, he listed his address as “Floraville” and he was given the benefit of the doubt on his Saline County Class 4 felony theft conviction, but he didn’t show up for a July 27 status hearing, and so now he’s on the hotseat…possibly for not having paid anything on his remaining $1,942 in fines and fees since April.

There’s been no future court setting for him in Saline made as yet.

Then one of the dog issues came up Tuesday, August 1, when at 1:45 p.m., Kenneth Newman, 30, of Flora was issued a Local Ordinance Citation for Dogs at Large, following an incident in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Wednesday, August 2 at 12:21 a.m., Zane Worthey, 19, of Flora was issued a citation for Operating Uninsured Vehicle, following a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Worthey Street.

Haven Miller

Friday, August 4 at 1:24 p.m., Flora Police arrested Haven Miller, 21, of Flora on a Clay County Warrant for Aggravated Battery. Miller was transported to Flora Police Department for booking procedures, she was unable to post bond and was transferred to Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Friday, August 4 at 2:50 p.m., Ashley Nicks, 21, of Flora was issued a Local Ordinance Citation for Parking Regulation/Parking on Sidewalk, following an incident in the 100 block of West 7th Street.

Saturday, August 5 at 3:56 a.m., Flora Police arrested Brianna Burgess, 25, of Louisville for Criminal Damage to Property, following an incident in the 800 block of West 3rd Street. Burgess underwent booking at Flora Police Department and was later transported to Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Tharin Harris, 19, of Louisville was also arrested for Obstructing a Peace Officer, during the incident. Harris was fingerprinted and photographed prior to posting the necessary cash bond and being released.

Then the other dog issue arose Saturday, August 5, when at 8:40 a.m., Lisa Champlin, 38, and Joshua Hill, 39, both of Flora were issued Local Ordinance Citations for Dangerous Dog, following an incident in the 500 block of West 6th Street.

And lastly on Saturday, August 5 at 10:30 p.m., Steven M. Wathan, 39, of Flora was issued a Local Ordinance Citation for Open Alcohol on Public Property, following an incident in the 200 block Elm Street.
