CARMI— An out-of-area man, from either Florida or Alabama depending on whether you look at his driver’s license or the arrest sheet, was taken into custody Monday evening after police say he was the subject of a traffic stop.
According to information filed in the case on or about August 7, at approximately 8:35 p.m. Jason B. Waggoner, 35, of either 1911 S. North Highway 95A, Apt. 16, Cantonment, Fla., or 14376 South Blvd. Lot 16, Silverhill, Ala., was driving a 2006 Chevrolet truck on Fairground Road in Carmi, when he was spotted by officer David D. Agee, who knew Waggoner to be wanted on an active arrest warrant out of White County for Failure to Appear (FTA) for a scheduled court date.
The vehicle was stopped and Waggoner taken into custody on the FTA warrant.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a Twisted Hard Ice Tea alcoholic beverage in the rear seat.
A passenger in the truck, identified as 25-year-old Timothy Kyler Seely, of 507 Co. Rd. 475 East, Norris City, admitted the alcoholic beverage was his and he was cited for Illegal Transportation.
Waggoner was convicted February 5, 2015 of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol for which he was sentenced to court supervision for two years and ordered to pay $2,193 in fines and fees.
Waggoner was later released from police custody after posting a $575 cash bond.
