CLAY CO., Ill. - Clay County warrants,and a couple of traffic incidents comprise the Clay County Sheriff's Department report for the past week or so.
Sheriff Andy Myers has released the following:
June 22, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 6:30 p.m. east of the intersection of Ivory Lane and Old Bible Grove Lane. Apparently Jason H. Gill, 31, Louisville, operating a 2004 Pontiac was traveling west on Ivory Lane when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway to the south and came to rest in the east ditch. Gill was cited for Leaving the Scene of an accident and Improper Lane Usage. He was given a Notice to Appear in Clay County Court and released.
June 22, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Kenneth W. Hawks, 51, Louisville, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Aggravated Battery. Bond set at $2,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
June 22, Chelsea Sipes, 32, Shumay, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Violation of Bond. She is currently incarcerated in the Effingham County Jail pending charges there. Sipes has no bond in Clay County.
June 22, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 9:20 a.m. at the Casey's Parking Lot in Louisville. Apparently a 17-year-old female, operating a 2013 Honda Civic was preparing to park and William J. Wilke, 65, Louisville, operating a 2003 Chevrolet was backing from a parking spot and did not see the Honda Civic and struck the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
June 23, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Richard D. Hampton, 44, Louisville, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Violation of Bond. Hampton does not have a bond. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
June 24, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 9:01 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 50 and Sunset Road in Clay City. Apparently Jessica R. Phillips, 27, Ingraham, operating a 2010 Chevrolet was traveling east on Hwy 50, when she attempted to pass a 1987 Ford pickup operated by Amanda Woods, 35, Flora, when the Woods vehicle turned north colliding with the Phillips vehicle. Woods was cited for Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle. No injuries reported.
June 25, Clay County Sheriff's Office arrested Henry C. Keller, 42, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Retail Theft. Bond set at $2,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
