WHITE CO., Ill. - A single vehicle traffic crash has lead to a DUI investigation in White County yesterday evening.
The crash, investigated by the Illinois State Police, occurred on U.S. Rt. 45 and eighth of a mile north of White County Road
2325N at 7:37 Wednesday evening, September 2.
At that time, Eric L. Bryant, 51, of Carmi, was driving a white 2002 Dodge van traveling south on U.S. Rt. 45, when the vehicle exited the roadway the west. The vehicle then crossed both lanes of travel and exited the roadway to the east, before again returning to the roadway and overturning.
Bryant was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash. Bryant
was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
ISP has cited Bryant for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Improper Lane Usage.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the White County Sheriff's Department, Enfield Fire Department and Fairfield Rural Fire Department.
