MARION CO., Ill. - Illinois State Police worked a wreck yesterday at the busy intersection of Illinois Route 37 and the 161 extension in Marion County.

The wreck occurred at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015.

At that time, a red 2006 Ford F150 pickup being driven by Doris Nadine Fitch, 77, of Florida, was traveling northbound on Route 37 at the intersection of the 161 in Marion County and did not stop at four way stop sign.

Her vehicle struck a tan 2005 Lincoln Town Car being driven by Charles McCormack, 81, in the front end.

After coming to a stop at the intersection, McCormack's vehicle was traveling westbound on 161 when it was struck by Fitch's vehicle.

A passenger in McCormack's vehicle, Coline J. McCormack, 89, was transported by Marion County EMS to St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia for treatment. A passenger in Fitch's vehicle, John W. Fitch, 80, was apparently uninjured.

Both units were removed from the scene by tow trucks. Mrs. Fitch was cited for Disobeying a Stop Sign.
