RICHLAND CO., Ill.—A traffic accident involving two semi trucks on Illinois Route 130 is being investigated by Illinois State Police, Richland County Sheriff Andy Hires has advised.
The crash occurred Saturday evening, reportedly between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 (exact time wasn’t available) on 130 north of Olney at Steber Hill, the location of which Hires noted.
Hires said that a semi had broken down on Steber Hill, and while it was stalled at the side of the road, another semi came along and struck the stalled one.
It created quite a mess, Hires said, and state police assisted Richland County with rerouting traffic, quite the task on a busy highway on a Saturday night.
Because ISP worked it, they will be the ones to have the details, but those haven’t been made available as of this afternoon. But, so many people were asking about it that we thought we’d share what we know. Hires stated it was his understanding that there were no injuries involved in the collision.
