CLAY CO., Ill. – Clay County Sheriff Andy Myers has released his mid-week report of activity involving his department and what they’ve been up to, this time from May 4 to May 9, 2018…and they’ve been busy.
May 4, Jay Clasper, 41, Louisville, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Aggravated D.U.I. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He appeared in Clay County Court at a later day, posted bond and was released.
May 5, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Xenia/Iola Road and Kinmundy Road. Apparently Julie Koelm, 48, Edgewood, driving a 2013 Ford was travelling north on the Xenia/Iola Road, failed to stop at the stop sign, entering the intersection and struck an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Truck operated by 48-year-old Charles Behnke, Flora. Minor injuries reported. Koelm was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.
May 5, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident east of the intersection of Sailor Springs Road and Iron Road. Apparently a 17-year-old juvenile operating a 1995 Chevrolet was travelling west on the Sailor Springs Road, when the rear axle broke off the vehicle causing the juvenile to lose control of the vehicle and enter the ditch. The juvenile was cited for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. No injuries reported.
May 6, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Trevor Wolfe, 24, Noble, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Criminal Damage to Property and Domestic Battery. Bond set at $4,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
May 7, Mick J. Hunter, 28, Olney, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Deceptive Practice. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
May 7, Heather Helms, 44, Louisville, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Deceptive Practice. Bond set at $4,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.
May 8, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Michael Hogsett, 29, Litchfield, for Improper Lane Usage. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
May 8, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Ashley Belcher, 30, Farina, for Violation of Probation on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent). She is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
May 8, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Charles D. Workman, 36, Louisville, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Petition to Revoke Probation on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent). He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
May 9, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Mary Anthony, 41, Clay City, for Clay City Ordinance Dogs at Large. She was given a Notice to Appear in Clay County Court
