CLAY CO., Ill. - The Clay County Sheriff's Department activity report for early March, provided by Sheriff Andy Myers, is a brief but interesting one, and highlights not only a wreck that lead into the weekend, but the service of two warrants, both on guys from Olney.

March 2, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested Daniel Tidwell, 50, Louisville, on an outstanding Effingham County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
March 2, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of North State Road and Longleaf Road. Apparently Nyal Dickey, 61, Flora, operating a 2007 Nissan pickup truck was traveling north on North State Road when he slowed because he was meeting another vehicle, a 2006 Ford operated by Patrick Evilsizer, 25, Flora. Dickey was then struck by another northbound vehicle, a 2004 Saturn Ion, operated by Nathan J. Davis, 30, Flora. The Davis vehicle then struck the Evilsizer vehicle. No injuries reported.
Mick Hunter
March 3, Mick J. Hunter, 28, Olney, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Deceptive Practice. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He appeared in Clay County court and was released.
March 6, Damon Elmore, 21, Olney, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of two (2) counts of Burglary. Bond set at $3,500.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
On March 7, a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy arrested John D. Hill, 66, Clay City, for Violation of Bond on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
