CLAY CO., Ill. - Clay County authorities are reporting an incident at North Clay Schools in Louisville that resulted in police response.

Clay County Sheriff Andy Myers reports that yesterday (Wednesday, February 28) at approximately 3:33 p.m. the Clay County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer received a report from North Clay School Officials indicating they had received information about a possible threat to the school.

The school responded quickly to this information and detained two juveniles. The juveniles were turned over to the sheriff’s office to complete their investigation. A third juvenile was detained a short time later.

No weapons were located at the school or on any of the juveniles.

As a result of the ongoing investigation three male juveniles have been detained at a local juvenile detention center, where they are awaiting their first appearance in court.

The sheriff’s office commends the schools for the quick response to this matter, which ensured all persons of interest were detained quickly and without incident.
