WHITE CO., Ill. - Going to prison for an Order of Protection violation is just a dumb thing to get tossed behind bars for, but an Enfield man with a lengthy record has accomplished the feat.
Jarrod M. Talley, who at age 33 has spent a lot of the last 15 years of his life acquiring a record in White County, found himself sentenced today over just such a thing,
Talley accepted a plea of guilty in exchange for a mild sentence - five years in IDOC - for the OP violation, a Class 4 felony. He will follow release (in about two years) up with four years of parole.
Talley was also ordered to pay all fines, fees, costs and assessments in the case, amounting to $1,353, none of which has been paid.
Talley also has another pending case in White County, Aggravated Battery in a Public Place, a Class 3 felony he caught in early June of this year. That case is set to be heard in a week.
