WHITE COUNTY: Kentucky car thief sentenced

WHITE CO., Ill. - The man who took police on a multi-county high-speed chase earlier this summer has been sentence to a term in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Daniel E. Carlisle, 30, of Owensboro, Kentucky, was sentenced in White County Circuit Court today on that Class 2 felony Possession of a Stolen Vehicle charges that came about in mid-June of this year after he came up out of Pope County, into Gallatin, Saline, then White, where he ultimately was caught a bit later after abandoning the vehicle.

For his actions Carlisle received as a sentence 3 years in DOC, to be followed by 2 years parole.

He was also issued a sentence on the attendant charge of Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer, a Class 4 felony: 3 years DOC, 1 year parole.

White County State's Attorney Denton Aud said that Carlisle was also ordered to pay all mandatory fines, fees, costs, and assessments, and the sentences were ordered to run concurrently.

Carmi Police Department and White County Sheriff’s Department were both involved in the investigation and arrest of Carlisle. Carlisle was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. Judge T. Scott Webb was the sentencing judge.
