EDWARDS CO., Ill. - A registered sex offender has been sentenced in a meth case in Edwards County.

Brandon Lee Thomas, 35, of Geff in neighboring Wayne County, is a convicted Edwards County sex offender, dating back to 2002, with a history of not registering in Edwards.

However, in the past four years, he's gotten into dope in both Edwards and Wayne...and the conviction yesterday (Friday, September 29) reflected the Edwards doping, which involved meth.

Arrested January 4 of this year, Thomas was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. He entered a plea yesterday in EC and received in exchange a sentence of three years in IDOC, to be followed by a year of parole.

Thomas has already paid $1,282 in fines and fees in the Edwards case.

In Wayne County, he's gotten hemmed up on Adulterants (normally, canned air used in huffing) in late July, and he's awaiting a November 2017 jury trial, which will probably end in a plea too, as Edwards County State's Attorney Eric St. Ledger is in on that one as special prosecutor.
