DISTRICT 19 – Stats for the month of August in Illinois State Police District 19 out of Carmi have been made available.

Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement Patrol, White and Hamilton Counties
An Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) patrol in White and Hamilton counties during August. This ACE patrol allowed the ISP to focus on preventing, detecting and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.
Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrol, Wayne County
An Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrol (OREP) was held in Wayne County during the Labor Day holiday weekend. This OREP provided extra patrol coverage for the ISP so officers could focus on saving lives by making sure all vehicle occupants were buckled up.
August Activity and Enforcement announced
Also, ISP District 19 has announced activity and enforcement figures for the month of August. Troopers in District 19, which includes Wabash, Edwards, Wayne, White, Hamilton, Saline and Gallatin counties, recorded 1,357 incidents during the month.
Enforcement activity consisted of 562 citations and 763 written warnings, including 264 speeding citations, 4 DUIs, 81 occupant restraint citations, 10 criminal citations, and 315 written warnings for speeding. Troopers also assisted 64 motorists, conducted 258 Motor Carrier Safety Inspections, and investigated 19 traffic crashes. There was one fatal traffic crash investigated by District 19 during August.
Moreover, 380 citations and 389 written warnings were issued for "Fatal Four" violations. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include DUI, speeding, Failure to Wear and Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
