EDWARDS CO., Ill. -  The woman who was one of three to have burglarized a Carmi businessman’s home while his family was at his funeral last summer has been sentenced in a theft in an adjacent county.

Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric St. Ledger has advised that Charla Beth Sullivan, 40, entered a plea on a Theft case she was facing in Edwards dating back to July 24 of last year.

Sullivan, who’s already serving a mild sentence in the Matz burglaries out of rural White County from roughly the same time period, has been sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections out of Edwards, to be followed by a year of mandatory supervised release (parole).

The burglary in Edwards County happened on the Edwards side of Grayville, and a number of items were stolen from a residence there that included jewelry, coins, and other valuables. Most of those items were recovered.

Sullivan’s sentence in Edwards is to run concurrently with the one out of White County, in which she will be paroled in September of 2018.

She was also ordered to pay all fines and fees associated with the case. In White County, she still owes $2,877.34, after having made a $30 payment on the amount. In Edwards, she owes $427, of which she’s paid nothing.
