MARION CO., Ill. - An interstate accident last night sent several people to a hospital for treatment, two of them children.
Illinois State Police said the accident happened in the northbound lane of Interstate 57 at milepost 123.5, seven miles north of Salem, at 9:28 last night (Sunday, May 28).
ISP had no details to their report, only that the accident involved a silver 2012 Ford Escape being driven by Michael Medina, 53, of Brookfield, Ill.; a gray 2012 Toyota Camry being driven by Jill L. Edwards, 30, of Braidwood, Ill.; and a white 2007 Chevy Tahoe, being driven by Cindy Rae Hamilton, 32, of Effingham.
With Edwards were passengers Christopher Edwards, 32, Tina M. Fonck, 51, a juvenile male age 11 and a juvenile female, age 5, all from Braidwood. With Hamilton was passenger Kristi M. Duckwitz, 30, of Effingham.
Edwards and her four passengers, as well as Duckwitz in the Hamilton vehicle, were all transported by ambulance to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.
