WHITE CO.— A Crossville drug convict has been sentenced after pleading guilty to one of the three counts facing him.
Documents filed in the case allege that on April 22, Joseph Levi Jordan, 28, of 406 West Main St., Crossville, committed the offense of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine when he was found to have on his person less than five grams of the drug; Unlawful Possession of Use of Weapons identified as a black switch blade knife and Unlawful Display of Registration when he was found operating a 1994 Chevrolet truck, with passenger car plates, at Cherry and Church Streets, in Carmi.
Jordan has an extensive criminal history including a conviction September 27, 1993 of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and sentenced to probation for six months and ordered to pay $497 in fines and fees.
On October 4, 2007 Jordan was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession/ Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.
A guilty plea to the under age drinking resulted in the remainder of the charges being dismissed and a sentence of court supervision for two years, alcohol treatment and $633 in fines and fees.
A Domestic Battery conviction on March 24, 2009 earned Jordan a sentence of periodic imprisonment for six months, probation for two years and an order to obtain mental/ medical treatment and to shell out $2,402 in fines and fees.
On October 10, 2013 Jordan was convicted of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and sentenced to another term of court supervision for two years and cost him another $547 in fines and fees.
At the time of his most recent arrest Jordan was already serving a court supervision sentence handed him July 27, 2015 following a conviction for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
In addition to the court supervision he was also ordered to pay $2,162 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $162.
Jordan also has a pending case from February 3, 2017 in which he is charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Bomb/ Bombshell/ Grenade, Unlawful Possession of Firearm with FOID Card Expired and Unlawful Possession of Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Documents show that Jordan also still has pending charges from April 22 in which he is charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
On May 4 Jordan pleaded guilty to the meth charge against him in return for the remainder of the charges being dismissed and a sentence of probation for 30 months and ordered to obtain drug treatment and to pay $3,057 in fines and fees, of which nothing has been paid.
