MT. CARMEL POLICE REPORT, FIRST WEEK OF MAY 2016!

mt carmel police badgeMT. CARMEL, Ill. - Here’s your Mt. Carmel Police report for the first week of May.

On May 2, there were two arrests, the first being James B. Agnew, 19, of Mt. Carmel, on a violation of offender initiative program warrant out of Wabash County. Authorities say Agnew was found in the 800 block of W. 6th Street and placed under arrest. Agnew was held pending the posting of $500 cash bond.

Also on the 2nd, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Dustin L. Kieffer, 29, of Mt. Carmel, after MCPD was called to 1149 West Third Street reference a trespasser. The complainants stated that Kieffer came to the residence on three occasions throughout the evening and refused to leave. Kieffer is also accused of yelling and kicking the residence, demanding the occupants exit the residence. Police located Kieffer and placed him under arrest. Kieffer was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to real property. Kieffer was held pending the posting of bond.

Then on May 3, Mt. Carmel Police were called to 1401 W. 3rd Street in Mt. Carmel reference a battery complaint. Upon arrival, Jade McClane advised that she was punched in the face by Gerald Wayne Smith Jr., 29, of Mt. Carmel. According to the police report, McClane stated that without provocation, Smith punched her in the face more than one time. Police spoke with Smith and while speaking with him they discovered he was in possession of a smoking device containing suspected burnt cannabis residue. Smith was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with battery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
