WHITE CO., Ill. - It appears some people aren't content with hanging at their home base, even if they want to get into an (alleged) domestic.
And in a car, at that.
This all went down in the early morning hours of this past Saturday (April 16), at about 12:30 a.m. At that time, out on the parking lot of Huck's on Oak Street, folks there noticed something going on in a vehicle and called the authorities.
Carmi Police Department responded and found Larry Smith, 50, and his wife Amber Smith, 33, allegedly engaged in a physical altercation inside their vehicle.
As it turns out, alcohol was a factor: Mrs. Smith, who was apparently behind the wheel, was charged with DUI/Alcohol and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Mr. Smith was only charged with Domestic Battery.
The Missus was able to bond out right away with $1,500; but Mr. Smith apparently couldn't do so, and opted to take a plea yesterday (April 18) to a reduced charge of Disorderly Conduct, to which he was sentenced to two years probation and $797 in fines and fees...of which none have been paid.
It's unclear where Mrs. Smith's case is right now, status-wise.
