WABASH CO., Ill.--A Bellmont man has sprung himself from lockup in the Wabash County Jail after he was busted on a DUI...and on a four-wheeler, to boot.
Sheriff Derek Morgan reports that on July 8 at approximately 7:42 p.m., a Wabash County Sheriff's Deputy observed a yellow and black ATV operating on the roadway in Bellmont. Morgan said the Deputy knew the operator of the ATV to be Matthew S. Hering, 38, of Bellmont and knew Hering to have a revoked Illinois driver's license.
Hering was transported to the Wabash County Jail and charged with:
- DUI-Alcohol
- Driving Revoked
- Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer
- Improper Operation of ATV
