EDWARDS CO., Ill.--Illinois State Police have released information on the deadly two-vehicle crash that happened Thursday afternoon on Illinois Route 130 south of Albion.

ISP said the crash occurred at 2:43 p.m. on Illinois Route 130 at Edwards County Road 700 East, involving a brown 1998 Chevrolet S-10 and a blue 2006 Mack Truck tractor with semi trailer. Driving the Chevy was Andrew W. Snyder, 18, of Carmi; operating the truck was Christopher A. Spray 32, of Albion. There were no passengers aboard either vehicle.

While the cause of the crash is under investigation by ISP, the preliminary traffic crash investigation shows that Snyder was traveling northbound on 130 at County Road 700E. For reasons undetermined at this time, the vehicle drove off onto the east shoulder, overcorrected, and then crossed over into the southbound lane.

Snyder's Chevy was then struck by the southbound Mack truck.

Following the impact, the Chevy left the west side of the roadway and overturned.

Snyder was wearing a seatbelt; however, he died from injuries he sustained during the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Edwards County Coroner Mark Curtis.

ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Edwards County Sheriff's Department, Albion Police Department, Edwards County Coroner's Office, Edwards County Ambulance Service, and the Albion Rural Fire Department. An Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Officer (C.R.O.) has been assigned to the crash investigation.
