WAYNE CO., Ill.---The cause of a vehicle overturn south of Interstate 64 last night in Wayne County is still under investigation by Illinois State Police, but the man involved in it has been cited on a preliminary basis.
The exact location of the single-vehicle accident was on Illinois Route 232 a quarter-mile south of I-64; it occurred last night (Sunday, March 8, 2015) at 10:17 p.m.
According to ISP, Jack H. Bowsher, 50, of Wayne City, was injured after his 2007 International Truck-Tractor Dump Semi-Trailer was traveling northbound on 242 at that location when he exited the roadway to the east and lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle eventually overturned onto the passenger side in the northbound lane of travel, causing the load of soybeans to spill into the east ditch.
There were no passengers in the vehicle with Bowsher; he was transported by the Wayne City Ambulance Service to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
The roadway is open as of this morning; the vehicle was towed from the scene.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, Wayne City Ambulance Service and the Wayne City Fire Department.
Bowsher was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
