CARMI, Ill. - Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter has submitted material about his department's activity this past weekend, which for the most part amounts to some people being out and about in or on some kind of wheeled conveyance who shouldn't have been.
The action kicked off Friday (August 24) about mid-morning (9:27 a.m.) when one Starlett Dunn, 35 of Maple Street in Carmi, was stopped while riding a bicycle on Fairground Road. She was wanted on a felony Retail Theft warrant, and had bond set for her at $2,000.
On Sunday, Aug. 26, very early in the morning (1:17 a.m.), one Jonathon W. Heern, 25, of Carmi, was tooling on down Oak Street when he was spotted by a Carmi police officer who knew that Heern wasn't supposed to be driving.
Heern was arrested after a traffic stop, and was cited for Driving While License Suspended (the above pic is from a previous such arrest; Jonathon's apparently not getting it likely due to his young age, and since he bonded out, look for more such mugs in the future).
Then last night (Sunday, Aug. 26) at approximately 8:45 p.m., a Crossville woman turned herself in at the Carmi PD.
Amber newman, 35, of Fourth Street in Crossville, was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant stemming from a June 2018 filing.
Newman was able to post $150 cash and a $20 booking fee to secure her release.
