Three sentenced in White County Monday, including one each from Gallatin, Wayne

WHITE CO., Ill. - Three individuals from around the area - including one from Shawneetown and one from Ellery - have been sentenced in White County Circuit Court as of today, according to State's Attorney Denton Aud.

Misty Hazel

The first was Misty A. Hazel, 27, of Shawneetown in Gallatin County.

Hazel was sentenced on two counts, the first a Class 1 felony Possession of Meth charge, the other, a Class 4 felony Obstruction of Justice charge. For these, Hazel received six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, which is to be followed by a year of parole.

Nickolas Jester

Next was Nickolas Jester, 23, of Ellery in neighboring Wayne County.

Jester, whose name has been connected to a crime in Gallatin that will be a big feature article in the next edition (on stands April 18), was convicted in White on a single count of Possession of Meth, a Class 3 felony.

Jester received a sentence of 5 years in IDOC, to be followed by a year of parole.

Sarah Ann Ray

Then Sarah Ann Ray, 37, of New Haven, was the lone White County individual sentenced today.

Ray entered pleas in her Class 3 felony Possession of Meth charge, as well as the Class 4 felony Obstructing Justice charge.

She was sentenced to 3 years in IDOC, to be followed by a year of parole.

Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge in all three cases.
