CARMI, Ill. - An Illinois Department of Corrections parole warrant service last night in the city of Carmi resulted in the arrest and charges of several residents after a drug haul was found.
The action occurred at the residence of parolee Jason Ballard, who's been repeatedly in trouble for the same thing and no one is understanding why he's still out and about and allegedly continuing to offend.
Carmi officials report this morning that at 8:22 p.m. last night (Thursday, March 15), authorities with IDOC went to a location on the 600 block of North 7th Street, Ballard's residence, on a domestic battery warrant service.
The parole agents alerted Carmi PD about a jar of suspected cannabis found at the trailer upon Ballard's arrest on the warrant, and Carmi PD obtained the necessary warrant to do a subsequent search.
Several illegal items were seized, including the cannabis (which weighed approximately 18 grams), four grams of meth, two more grams of cannabis, several meth and cannabis pipes, scales, drug paraphernalia, some Schedule 4 prescription pills and a suspected stolen Huck's debit card.
Ballard was charged with Possession of Cannabis less than 30 grams, Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon (brass knuckles).
Also arrested at the trailer was Christina Ballard and Carson Boren. Both were charged with Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Lorazepam and Alprazolam). Boren was also charged with Possession of Cannabis less than 30 grams.
All remained in White County lockup as of this morning.
