CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - Rolling Thunder Illinois Chapter 3 spent this past weekend in Crawford County to pay tribute to and honor local veterans, especially those in need.
March 10 was the date when Rolling Thunder, based out of Richland County, traveled to two locales in Crawford County, first to Hutsonville's Heritage House, a shelter care facility which is home to over 50 U.S. veterans.
Many of these vets have no other place to go and would be homeless if not for this home and the wonderful people that work so hard to help these veterans.
Rolling Thunder is very proud to sponsor the Heritage House, so this past weekend Illinois Chapter 3 arrived, bringing food, clothes and other items to assist these men and women that served our country and sacrificed so much defending our freedom.
Rolling Thunder Illinois 3 would also like to thank the businesses and people from Richland and surounding counties for their donations and support.
And then on that same day, Rolling Thunder Illinois Chapter 3 traveled over to Robinson and presented five Crawford County veterans Salute a Vet flags.
The Salute a Vet program is a way to pay tribute and to honor Ameriacan Veterans, showing them we will never forget all that they have done in the defense of our country.
Here are some more photos from this presentation...including the young man below, whom more young people can look up to!
