FLORA, Ill. - Flora police have gotten a break lately from an intense number of arrests and other incidents they've had to deal with, as it appears in this early-March report, but they were able to serve some warrants...and get a guy for using his cell phone while driving.
That's what happened a week ago Friday, March 2 when at 9:33 p.m., Christopher McGee, 38, of Flora was issued a citation for Illegal Use of Electronic Communication Device, following a traffic stop on Vincennes
Avenue.
Then on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:52 a.m., Flora Police investigated an accident in the 500 block of West North Avenue, involving a 2002 Dodge, operated by Timothy Smith, 22, of Flora and a 2014 Chevy, operated by Jessica Pettit, 27, of Xenia. Smith was issued a Citation for Failure to Reduce Speed. No injuries were reported.
Wednesday, March 7 at 5:33 pm, Flora Police arrested Elijah McKnelly on a Fayette County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle. McKnelly was transported to Flora Police Department for booking and then posted the necessary cash bond and was released with a court date.
Saturday, March 10 at 1:11 am, Amber Ashby, 24, of Flora was issued Citations for Improper Lane Usage and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, following a traffic stop on Highway 50.
Saturday, March 10 at 2:49 am, Flora Police arrested Katie Sebring, 34, of Flora on an Effingham County Contempt Warrant, following an incident in the 300 block of Scudamore. Sebring was taken to Flora Police Department, where she posted the necessary cash bond and was released.
