CARLISLE, Ind. - A young Lawrenceville man working as a correctional officer in an Indiana prison has been busted following an investigation into dealing dope to inmates.

Aaron McQuaid, 25, is the man who was arrested this morning at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, Indiana.

Material from a press release indicates that McQuaid, who had been at the prison for a year as a correctional officer, is alleged to have been smuggling items of contraband in to the inmates. These included tobacco, and suboxone; he is said to have admitted to have taken the tobacco in via a pill bottle; and the suboxone in via his wallet. The suboxone was in strip form, and it's reported that McQuaid had admitted to have smuggled 50 such strips into the prison for just one inmate, at a cost of $500.

When McQuaid was arrested, he was fired from the facility. He's being held in the Sullivan County Jail on a $23,000 bond.
