CLAY CO.— This issue’s drug arrest round-up from Clay County includes arrests of individuals from Clay City and Xenia.

Tammie L. Vessechia, 56, of 119 6th St. Southwest, Clay City, was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance after police say she was found August 14 on U.S. Rte. 50, in Clay City with an undetermined amount of a substance containing an opiate on her person.

Cash bond in the case was set at $1,500.

In a motion for bond reduction, filed Aug. 17, public defender Chris Elliott has asked for the bond to be reduced to $500 cash with reasons given that Vessechia was not a flight risk, lives with and cares for her elderly mother in Clay City and would be willing to submit to home monitoring.

The motion for bond reduction was denied Aug. 21.

Meth in Clay City

Monty R. Taylor, 41, of 574 Bunnyville Dr., Clay City, has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine after authorities say on August 16, on Big Four Road, approximately one-eighth of a mile south of Rte. 50, he was found to have less than five grams of the drug on his person.

Taylor was released from police custody August 16 after a $2,000 cash bond was posted on his behalf by Sandra Brake, of Clay City.

Xenia meth

Jamie J. Branom, 37, of 229 West 2nd St., Xenia, has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine after police say he was found August 22 with less than five grams of meth on his person.

Cash bond in the case was set at $1,500.
