HAMILTON CO.— A pair from Monroe and Johnson counties have been charged with felony Theft after police say they made off from a local grocer with baby formula.
Court documents indicate that on July 13 Edward S. Lambert, 43, of 301 North Charles, Lenzburg and Jennifer L. Holdren, 36, of 319 North Liberty St., Waterloo, committed the theft when they knowingly took possession of two cases of Enfamil baby formula from Food Park, located at 309 West Randolph in McLeansboro.
What the two were doing in far-flung Hamilton County (at least, far-flung from their home counties, one to the west and one to the south) is unknown. It may all have been opportunistic, however and economics may have been a factor, as the cost of the two cases of baby formula was estimated at greater than $300.
Holdren’s Monroe County criminal history includes a December 22, 2011 conviction for Resisting a Peace Officer for which she was sentenced to conditional discharge for one year and ordered to pay $800 in fines and fees.
She was found guilty of felony Theft September 17, 2015 and sentenced to 33 days in the county jail, conditional discharge for two years (which she violated with her more recent arrest) and was ordered to pay $1,040, of which she has paid nothing.
Lambert’s Monroe County criminal history includes a felony conviction November 4, 1993 for Obstruction of Justice/ Destroying Evidence, for which he was sentenced to jail for six days, probation for 18 months and ordered to pay $323 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $180.
An October 30, 2014 conviction for Theft earned Lambert a sentence of 15 days in the county jail, conditional discharge for two years and was ordered to fork over $790 in fine, of which he hasn’t paid anything.
And right along with Ms. Holdren, Lambert was convicted September 17, 2015 of Theft and sentenced to the same 33 days in the county jail, conditional discharge for two years (which he violated with his most recent arrest) and was ordered to pay $790 in fines and fees, of which he has paid nothing.
Cash bond in both cases was set at $2,000 each.
