CARMI, Ill. - The man who a couple of weeks ago risked lives and safety during a high-speed pursuit into White County was nabbed yesterday on Seventh Street in Carmi.
Authorities in Carmi caught up to Daniel E. Carlisle, 30, aka "The Ghost," of Hartford, Kentucky, after an anonymous tip came in regarding his location.
Carlisle is alleged to have stolen at least two vehicles in the process of coming over to Illinois from Kentucky; one was from Pope County, one from White County.
He lead officers of the law on a high-speed chase up from Pope through Saline, Gallatin, and White, where it was determined it'd be better if the pursuit was terminated as it was reaching Carmi city limits and people might be at risk of the erratic driving Carlisle was displaying.
He's being held in the White County Jail on a local misdemeanor charge of Possession or Delivery of a Lookalike Substance, and on an Ohio warrant.
