LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. - A portion of Illinois 250 running through Lawrenceville has been closed since yesterday and as of 11 this morning, still remained closed.
Reports indicate that due to a water line issue, the street seems to be caving in at one point, so crews are working at it and have been since Thursday, June 15.
Fortunately, Lawrenceville drivers are able to route around the street closure, out on U.S. 50 to the north or behind the vicinity of Lawrence Memorial Hospital to the south.
The section of 250 aka West Have Road from State Street to Lexington Street was shut down yesterday afternoon due to a water leak in the roadway.
Work went on at the location yesterday, but crews were back at it today. The street between the hospital and on the way west toward Walmart remained closed as of this morning.
