CLAY, EFFINGHAM, MARION: ISP District 12 releases patrol results

CLAY/EFFINGHAM/MARION COs., Ill. - Illinois State Police (ISP) District 12 Commander, Captain Cory Ristvedt, has announced the results of various patrols in his District held recently.

Below are the patrols and counties they covered.

Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement 

(ACE) patrols in Clay and Marion counties during May were held. These ACE patrols 
allowed the ISP to focus on preventing, detecting, and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.

Roadside Safety Check

This RSC was held in Effingham County from late night Friday, May 12 to early morning Saturday, May 13. The RSC was conducted in Effingham, by District 12 officers.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a factor in more than 30 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois, and throughout the U.S., nearly 10,000 people die each year due to alcohol-impaired driving. RSCs are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road. This project was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
