WHITE CO., Ill. - Two people sustained minor injuries early this morning in a rollover accident on the off-ramp of Interstate 64 at the Grayville exit.
ISP in District 19 who worked the scene said the accident occurred this morning, Saturday, May 20, at 5:42 a.m.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, the driver of the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, Jodi Lytle, 34, of Louisville, Kentucky, was traveling westbound on Interstate 64.
With Lytle was a passenger, Brian R. Dawson, 33, also of Louisville.
Lytle attempted to exit Interstate 64 at mile post 130 to go onto Illinois Route 1 (Grayville exit), but, said ISP, Lytle’s vehicle speed was too fast for the exit ramp curve and the wet roadway.
Lytle lost control of the Chevrolet and at that point it went off the left side of the ramp’s roadway and overturned on the embankment.
Both Lytle and Dawson were transported by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The Chevrolet was removed by M & S Towing of Grayville.
The Illinois State Police were assisted at the scene by the Richland County, Edwards County and White County Ambulance Services. Also assisting were the Grayville Police Department and Little Wabash Fire Protection District.
Jodi Lytle was cited for Driving Too Fast for Road Conditions
