WHITE CO., Ill. – White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud has provided information regarding sentencing for two in his county as of yesterday (Monday, April 17).
James Houchin
Aud said James M. Houchin, 46, of Grayville, got 4 years in Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by two years mandatory supervised release (parole) for a Class 2 felony count of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and a Class 2 felony count of Burglary.
Houchin was also ordered to pay all mandatory fines, fees, costs and assessments (currently in the amount of $649, none of which has been paid), as well as restitution which will be determined at a restitution hearing on June 12, 2017. The Grayville Police Department was the investigating agency in this matter.
Kenneth Corner
Then Kenneth W. Corner, 35, of Evanston, Ind., was sentenced in his 2015 Class 2 felony Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse case in White. For that, he also got a sentence of 4 years IDOC, to be followed by two years parole.
Corner was also ordered to pay his mandatory fines, fees, costs and assessments in the amount of $592, none of which has been paid. Under Illinois law, Class 2 felonies have a sentencing range of 3 to 7 years, and Corner was also eligible for probation in this case, but apparently the judge agreed with Aud that there should be some prison time involved.
The Illinois State Police was the investigating agency in this matter.
