NORRIS CITY—A press release from the Southern District of the U.S. Federal Court system states that Gary Richard Walters, 39, of Norris City, was charged with child exploitation Saturday in a two-count criminal complaint.
Walters faces a count of Production of Child Pornography, and a second count of Distribution of Child Pornography.
Walters made a first appearance yesterday (Monday, December 30, 2013) in U.S. District Court in Benton. He was ordered held in custody pending further proceedings.
On the first count, if convicted, Walters faces from 15 to 30 years in prison, up to a $250,000 fine and up to lifetime supervised release; on the second Walters faces from 5 to 20 years in prison, up to a $250,000 fine and up to lifetime supervised release.
