WHITE CO.— A pair of DUIs were picked up during routine patrol of the streets of Carmi this morning, Thursday, February 9.
The first DUI arrest took place at approximately 12:01 a.m. and involved 31-year-old Heather N. Duke, of 200 Commerce, Apt. 42, Carmi
Duke was taken into custody at Main and Ninth streets in Carmi and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with Breath Alcohol Content Greater than .08, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
She was released from police custody at 3:33 a.m. this morning after posted $120 cash bond.
Approximately one hour later at 1:08 a.m., Joseph W. Desper, 37, of 708 Dewey Ave., Mt. Vernon, driving a 2013 Altima, was the subject of a traffic stop at Cherry and Third streets.
Desper was taken into custody and formally charged with two counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with Breath Alcohol Content Greater than .08 and one count of Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
Desper was released from police custody at 3:24 a.m. after posting $120 in cash bond.
His vehicle was towed by Don's Bumper to Bumper Service.
