CLAY CO., Ill. - Clay County sheriff's deputies during January 26-29 didn't have a huge contingent to deal with...but the handful of folks they did encounter for this sheriff's department report were from all over the readership area.
Sheriff Andy Myers reports the following activity for his department for that time frame:
Jan. 26, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy cited Chase Runyon, 22, Noble, for Improper Display of License Plate and Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
Jan. 26, Dylan Powell, 18, Fairfield, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Bond set at $1,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
Jan. 26, Steven Beasley, 34, Mt. Carmel, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Petition to Revoke Probation on the original charge of Retail Theft. Bond set at $15,000.00 (10 percent). Beasley is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
Jan. 27, the Clay County Sheriff's Office was notified of a hit and run accident at 6:48 p.m. at 300 Block of Hwy 45 in Louisville. Apparently Dennis K. McGee, 46, Louisville, operating a 2001 Chevrolet was traveling south on Hwy. 45 when an unknown 1993 Mitsubishi collided with the back of the McGee vehicle and then left the area. Upon further investigation, Deputies cited Andrew J. Robinson, 23, Mattoon, for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
Jan. 29, Skylayr Kerr, 22, Bridgeport, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Unlawful Possession of the Credit Card of Another. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent). He posted bond and was released.
