WHITE COUNTY SENTENCES TWO TO IDOC WEDNESDAY

WHITE CO., Ill. - White County State's Attorney Denton Aud has announced that two in his county have been sentenced to terms in Illinois Department of Corrections.

The first was Stephanie R. Davis-Campbell, 51, of Carmi, who entered a plea to Unlawful Possession of Weapon by Felon, Class 3 felony dating back to a mid-April arrest. For her cooperation, she received a minimal sentence of 2 years DOC, to be followed by 1 year mandatory supervised release (MSR, or, parole). She was also convicted of a Class A misdemeanor offense of Driving Under the Influence. This case was handled by the Carmi Police Department.

The next was Lawrence Chad Smith, 45, of Grayville. Smith entered a plea to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor, Class 2 felony. In exchange for this plea, he received a more substantial sentence than Davis-Campbell: 5 years and 6 months DOC, toe be followed by 2 years MSR.

Aud said Smith had previously been placed on four years probation in this case. His probation was revoked this morning with the sentence to the Illinois Department of Corrections being imposed. This case was handled by the White County Sheriff's Department.
