MARION CO., Ill. - A wreck Wednesday evening left one driver involved complaining of back pain, transported to the hospital, and ultimately being ticketed.

The two-vehicle accident occurred at 5:45 p.m. last night 9Wednesday, May 4) on Merrit Street at the U.S. Route 50 stop in Odin.

Illinois State Police District 12 said white 2002 Lexus sedan being driven by Bradley M. Lyons, 18, of Breese, was stationary on Merrit Street at the stop sign for Poplar St (Rt 50) facing south bound; with him was one female juvenile passenger.

A silver 2015 Ford sedan being driven by Santana C. Biggs, 20, of Walnut Hill, was traveling Poplar Street (Rt 50) westbound approaching Merrit Street. With Biggs was a female juvenile passenger.

The Lexus, ISP said, failed to yield pulling onto Poplar Street, turning left (eastbound) in front of the Ford. The Ford was unable to stop in time and struck the Lexus in the rear driver's side.

Lyons was transported by ambulance to St Mary's Centralia Hospital reporting back pain but not evident, according to ISP.

He was later cited for Failure to Yield at Stop Intersection.
