WAYNE CO.—Champion Labs in Albion was the site of an interesting scene last Thursday…and one which folks ultimately learned had been associated with a Fairfield man being arrested and charged with pornography.
But it wasn’t just any pornography.
Randy King, 59, of Fairfield, was charged this past Friday (September 13, 2013) with three counts of child pornography after an investigation conducted by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s “Operation Glass House” allegedly busted him out. Agents of this operation carried out a search warrant Thursday the 12th at King’s home on Sibley Street in Fairfield, this occurring at 6 a.m., at which time his computers (and there were multiple computers) and related hardware were seized.
They then traveled on over to Champion Lab’s warehouse in Albion (described only as “King’s place of employment” in mainstream media, who bows and scrapes to the great god Champ/Airtex at all times), where King was working, and arrested him, walking him out in front of plenty of witnesses, who advised Disclosure at the time.
It wasn’t until the next day that it was announced that child porn charges would be filed against King.
But like we said: not just any charges.
Along with the regular Child Pornography/Lewd Exhibition or Pose, there were also two other separate charges that were somewhat chilling: One count that included depictions of an animal involved with the lewd exhibition or pose of a child, and one count involving depictions of children that were sadistic in nature.
All three charges are Class X felonies.
King is being held in the Wayne County Jail on a million dollar bail ($100,000 cash bond). He’s been set for a prelim on the case October 8 at 1 p.m. Unfortunately, duly-elected Wayne County State’s Attorney David Williams is now back and functioning (which term is a stretch in and of itself) in office, and will be handling the case, instead of some of the more capable state’s attorneys substitutes who have been handling matters in Williams’ absence due to illness (Mike Valentine of Edwards County in particular). While it is possible this case will go federal, the last time a child porn case came before the court in Wayne, (Dale Trimmer‘s), David Rollover Rands decided it wasn’t worth the effort and let ol Dale go with a slap on the wrist, calling it a big misunderstanding. Williams is about as up to speed on tackling alleged law breakers as Rands is; so unless this case goes federal, we don’t have high hopes. But, we thought it might be worth it to point out to you for the sheer fact that MSM continues to hedge their reports when it comes to Champ.
