CARMI, Ill. - Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter has issued press information regarding arrests effected after a late-night search warrant proved productive.
Carter said that at approximately 11:06 p.m. last night (Tuesday, March 8), the Carmi Police Department executed a search warrant on the residence located at 701 Sixth Street. This warrant was another warrant obtained after detailed information of drug items and drug activity at this location were compiled into a petition for a search warrant.
During the execution of the search warrant, several illegal drugs and drug items were located. These included a small marijuana grow operation, cannabis, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. As a result, both occupants of the residence were home and were arrested without incident. They were Levi Browning, 30, and Tiffany Williford, 28, both of 701 Sixth St.
Both Browning and Williford were transported to the City/County Jail and were charged with Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cannabis, and Unlawful Production of Cannabis Sativa Plant.
The Carmi Police Department was assisted by the White County Sheriff's Department and the White County State's Attorney.
