WABASH CO., Ill. - The public is fortunate yesterday to not have been in the way of a Highway 15 police pursuit, according to information supplied by the Wabash County Sheriff's Office this morning.
According to Sheriff Derek Morgan, the incident took place yesterday afternoon (Monday, February 8) at approximately 2:12 p.m. when they responded to North 1400 Blvd., about two miles west of Oak Street in Mt. Carmel.
Once on scene the Sheriff's Office found Jordan L. Sayge, 34, of Mt. Carmel asleep at the wheel.
The Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Mt. Carmel Police Department with the roadside investigation. During that investigation Sayge refused to cooperate and fled the scene in his vehicle a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500.
Morgan said Sage was pursued by officers, crossing Highway 15, speeds reached up to 110 mph, eventually ending 11 minutes later in Keensburg. Sayge was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Fleeing or Eluding a Peace Officer, and cited for improper parking.
Sayge is currently being held at the Wabash County Jail pending the setting of bond.
