Screen Shot 2015-11-23 at 6.49.34 PMWHITE CO.— A chronic crim and convicted druggie from Crossville has earned herself another felony charge.

This time Shaina M. Ward, 32, of Crossville, has been charged with felony Theft for allegedly taking off with a 20-inch FitBikeCo bicycle belonging to Jason Graham, of 133 Tenth St., Carmi on Oct. 7.

Whether or not Ms. Ward intended to get her criminal butt in shape or if she just couldn’t help herself, authorities appear to have had enough of her antics.

Ward’s criminal inclinations began showing in 2001 when she was convicted of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for which she was sentenced to conditional discharge for two years, ordered to undergo medical/mental treatment and fork over $235 in fines and fees.

In 2003 she was sentenced to the county jail for six months and probation for two years after she was convicted of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (prescription medication).

Ward was convicted in January 2007 of Battery/Causing Bodily Harm for which she was ultimately sentenced to probation for two years and periodic imprisonment for six months.

She was sentenced to court supervision for two years and ordered to undergo alcohol treatment March 11, 2009 after she was convicted of Driving Under the Influence of Drugs.

One thing is clear: with the $1,500 cash bond assigned in the case she could have more than likely purchased an exercise bike of her own.

A Carmi man already serving a probation sentence on a drug conviction and court supervision on a Theft conviction, both from earlier this year, has now been charged with a pair of felony drug counts.

Edwards W. Ticer, Jr., 35, of 205½ Cherry St., Carmi, was formally charged Oct. 19 with one count each of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine less than five grams, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, identified as alprazolam and Unlawful Storage of a Controlled Substance for allegedly keeping the pills in a cigarette pack in a blue Ford Escape, which is more than likely in danger of being seized.

Junior was convicted January 7, 2015 of Unlawful Possession of Meth and Retail Theft for which he was sentenced to court supervision for two years, probation for two years, and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and pay $2,343 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $2,270.32.

Cash bond in Junior’s most recent case was set at $2,500.

Nowhere fast

A Sebree, Ky., woman appears to continue her advance toward a prison sentence.

Kristi R. Buchanan, 22, has been in and out of trouble with the law for the past several years.

She was convicted October 5, 2013 of Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and was sentenced to conditional discharge for two years and ordered to undergo medical/mental treatment.

She stepped up her criminal game in December of 2013 when she was convicted again of Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and added Resisting a Peace Officer to her repertoire.

She was sentenced Dec. 18 to conditional discharge for another two years and enjoyed a 30-day stay in the county jail.

She was also ordered to pay $939 in fines and fees, of which she still owes $614.

Advancing into the drug scene, Buchanan was convicted January 6, 2014 of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for which she was sentenced to court supervision for two years and ordered to pay $1,182 in fines and fees, of which she has paid nothing.

Her latest ‘in trouble’ with authorities came about November 15 when she was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine less than five grams and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia identified as a glass smoking pipe.

No bond was set as Buchanan was already behind bars for violating the terms of her release in the resisting case from 2013.
