HAMILTON CO.— A McLeansboro man is facing a pair of felony charges after authorities say he broke into the local school.
According to information filed in the case, on September 18, Tee J. McDonald, 21, of the 300 block of South Locust St., McLeansboro, knowingly entered a building identified as the Hamilton County School District 10 Junior and Senior High School, located at 1 Fox Lane, McLeansboro, with intent to commit theft.
While inside, McDonald is accused of causing $500-$10,000 in damage to a tile floor located in the main high school hallway.
McDonald was booked into the county jail on charges of Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property and Burglary of a School.
Cash bond in the case was set at $6,000.
Dahlgren burglary
In an unrelated story, a Carmi pair has been charged with Burglary.
Authorities say that on Sept. 23, Steven W. Smith, 49, of the 100 block of Fackney St., Carmi, and Heather L. Browning, 41, of the 500 block of Ellen Dr., Carmi, knowingly entered a building belonging to Andy Miller, located at Rural Rte. 4, Box 289 Dahlgren, with intent to commit theft.
Smith was also released from custody Sept. 24 after a $1,500 cash bond was posted on his behalf by Carle Smith, of West Fackney St., Carmi.
Browning was also released from custody Sept. 24 after a $1,500 cash bond was posted on her behalf by April Abbott, of the 300 block of Ellen Dr., Carmi.
