HAMILTON CO., Ill. - Two men are in lockup in White County after a Hamilton County arrest Tuesday.
David P. Compton, 39, and Gary D. Carter, 28, were arrested by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department on August 26 for Burglary and Obstructing Justice.
They are accused of entering a building owned by Mary Kay Davis and Jimmy Davis and committing a theft while in the building.
The items were recovered after a search warrant was conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department on a property located at Rural Rt. 5 Box 174 in rural Hamilton County.
The two individuals were then accused of giving false names as to their identities when asked for identification from the sheriff's department.
Their bail has been set at $50,000 ($5,000 cash). They are incarcerated in the White County Jail in Carmi.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department was aided by the Southern Illinois Drug task Force and McLeansboro City Police during the search warrant.
