EDWARDS CO., Ill.--A Bone Gap man finally messed up enough on his generous probation to get it revoked...and now, he's headed to prison.

Erik P. Malone, 30, is a frequent attendant of court dates in Edwards County, this dating back at least 10 years. But he became a felon in 2007, and apparently Illinois Department of Corrections taught him nothing through the short stint he spent in that institution for Residential Burglary, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Domestic Battery back in 2008.

Put on endless pay-or-appear statuses in subsequent cases, he was finally sentenced to more DOC time yesterday in a 2012 Aggravated Battery using a Deadly Weapon count: Four years, meaning two, but with credit for time served.

He's also been ordered to pay fines and fees associated with the case, currently in the amount of $2,647 (he's paid $10 toward that).

Malone still owes $1,500 on fines and fees in other cases.
