It's been a while since we've done some Read the Leads ("Read" as in "reading" and "Lead" as in the "lead" into the article) and since we have so many new readers and subscribers, we're going to return to that format for awhile to show you what we have to offer in the print version, which is now being produced every other week until we decide not to...which means we might have to raise our subscription rate a bit. All manner of Hades broke loose when Mychal Bush-King was arrested earlier this year, primarily from two factions: The ones who believe he would NEVER do such a thing as engage in child pornography/underage sex, and the ones who believe that it was about time he got caught.
Because we have been covering this punk since his high school days when in 2007 he beat up a kid right there in the school and got away with it, all the way up through 2011 when he was caught (but not charged with) doing the same thing he was caught with earlier this year (having sex with an underage girl), we took the position of the latter, and with good reason: When a person enters their 20s and they are still compelled to have sex with young teens instead of graduating to women more their age, there's something wrong with them. They'll never be rehabilitated. And we could see THAT coming through the Bankhead Tunnel more than four years ago.

CLAY CO.—A very quiet resolution to a case that made big headlines earlier this year has been reached.
Mychal Bush-King, 23, of Flora, was charged February 9 with a single count of Child Pornography, a Class X felony, and a single count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse/Five Years Older than Victim, these dating back to a February 6 incident wherein he was caught with a very young neighbor girl by her father.
A subsequent interview found at least one photo of the child, age 14, on Bush-King’s cell phone.
Other photos were reportedly found, as well as on his laptop, but he was only charged with the single count for reasons that remain unknown to this date.
Bush-King admitted to the sexual activity between the two, which resulted in the sexual abuse charge.
On June 26, at a court hearing set for a regularly-scheduled pretrial conference wherein the state and the defense were to discuss a jury trial, Bush-King quietly entered a plea of guilty to both charges.
Bush-King has been held in the Clay County Jail in Louisville since the time of his arrest on a $1,000,000 bail ($100,000 cash bond).
He was unable to hire his own attorney and had to rely on public defender Chris Elliott to...
