FLORA, Ill.--Illinois State Police have made available information about a bizarre two-car accident that occurred Monday morning on Main Street in Flora.

Photos of the accident made the rounds on social media site, including to us, but at the time, there was no information available on it.

ISP said that the collision occurred at 7:26 a.m. Monday (May 18) at Main at North Avenue.

There, Teresa Doyle, 31, of Cisne, is alleged to have failed to stop at a red traffic signal while driving her maroon 2005 Dodge southbound on Main Street. With her was a 49-year-old unidentified female passenger from Flora.

Her vehicle was struck by a westbound silver 1997 Toyota, being operated by an unidentified 42-yera-old male from Flora.

The Toyota rotated, ISP said, and flipped up on its driver's side, coming to rest on that side. The Dodge remained pointed south at the intersection after being struck.

The unidentified male was transported by ambulance to Clay County Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Doyle was cited for disobeying a traffic control signal and operating uninsured.

The photo was submitted to us by a reader, who advised that Flora mayor Bob Tackitt actually was the one who took it, but we can't say for sure the originator of it, so we present it here under the Fair Use Act.
