EFFINGHAM, Ill.---On Friday March 27th, 2015, the Illinois State Police and Clay County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle incident, one mile east of Dieterich Blacktop on Sailor Springs Road.
The incident involved Amber R. Mahon (34), of Sailor Springs. The female passenger exited the moving vehicle, during which she sustained multiple injuries and was flown to Carle Clinic.
Amber R. Mahon later succumbed to her injuries. Preliminary investigatory details indicate no foul play involved. The incident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
